In late 2011, I designed and submitted a panel topic, focused on the future of retail shopping (QR codes, mobile and more), for the 2012 South By Southwest Interactive Festival. The panel itself consisted of pioneers of mobile shopping, such as ShopSavvy co-founder, John Boyd, brand managers of top industry brands, and technology commentators, such as USA Today’s Tech Columnist, Edward Baig.
The first round of votes for a SXSW panel comes from the public. Using Facebook, Twitter and blogs, I broadcast the panel to a wide variety of mobile and tech enthusiasts, as well as retail brands, with overwhelming success. My panel made it through public voting with flying colors, and was then voted in my the SXSW board.
FutureShop was extremely well received at the conference as a thought-provoking and buzz-worthy topic. The full video footage of the panel can be viewed here: http://vimeo.com/46062449
